Connection of serial printers to parallel ports

Background information:
If a serial device is to be connected to a computer over a longer distance, we recommend isolating the devices from each other. Despite the fact that these interfaces have been specifically developed for industrial applications, they are easily affected by voltage fluctuations. Voltages of only 10V can already cause transfer errors, while voltages of 30V and higher can even destroy the interface.
