Active Communication

This device makes it possible to use sensors with switching contacts as initiators for alarm events. The alarm can be triggered either when single events occur or when a defined pulse count is reached on the respective input. Messaging can take place locally through switching of the digital outputs and be forwarded in the form of e-mail, SNMP trap, UDP and TCP client, syslog messages and FTP over a TCP/IP based network.

Six digital inputs are provided which can be used as signal and as acknowledgement inputs. The device has six digital outputs for local alarming. Each input has a counter associated with it whose value can also be used for triggering an alarm.

The alarm management software can be run from the internal Web server of the device with any Web browser. It requires no installation or additional plug-ins, making it directly available on any PC in the network. The Web-based software automatically visualizes the current alarm status of the device and allows pending alarms to be confirmed via software.

All alarm and input events including the associated counter states are stored non-volatile in the internal data logger and through the integrated software are available in any browser for later analysis.
